TEST TEST TEST!!

So here we are now back from our wonderful vacation in the Smokey Mountains of East Tennessee, I would have thought we would have had more of a game plan by now....

David did go in for his semen test and to our shock it was 14 Million!!!!! David has been told by a previous semen testing that his was very low. So we are extremely excited by this news!! There has been an issue with my blood work that Dr. Kaufmann had sent off to see why my egg count is low- so looks like I will need to go back in and have this re-drawn or something.

D. Kaufmann did get my past HSG/sonograms/blood work in from My OB Dr. Howell- and he has decided that he wants to do a repeat hysterosalpingogram test on me- this is commonly called HSG for short, it is an X-ray test that looks at the inside of the uterus and fallopian tubes and the area around them. It often is done for women who are having a hard time becoming pregnant (infertile).

During a hysterosalpingogram, a dye (contrast material) is put through a thin tube that is put through the vagina and into the uterus. Because the uterus and the fallopian tubes are hooked together, the dye will flow into the fallopian tubes. Pictures are taken using a steady beam of X-ray (fluoroscopy) as the dye passes through the uterus and fallopian tubes. The pictures can show problems such as an injury or abnormal structure of the uterus or fallopian tubes, or a blockage that would prevent an egg moving through a fallopian tube to the uterus. A blockage also could prevent sperm from moving into a fallopian tube and joining (fertilizing) an egg. A hysterosalpingogram also may find problems on the inside of the uterus that prevent a fertilized egg from attaching (implanting) to the uterine wall.

I had one done in December 2008- and trust me it is no walk in the park! For you ladies- think of the worst menstrual cramps you have ever had...times that by like 50 and make it be a constant pain for around 5min or so until the test is done! Not what I would like to do again- but if it gets us one step closer to having our baby....so be it! We have this set up to do Monday August 1st at 2:45pm. Dr. Johns in Ft. Worth will be doing the test.

Last week we were up in East TN for David's family reunion- His family is spread out between the upper north east and down here in TX- We had an amazing time!! I have truly married into a wonderful family and could not ask for anything better!! Below are some of the pictures we took while there!! Enjoy!

At one part during our time at the National park there was a Momma bear with her triplet cubs!! She came very close to us and was not shy at all!!!
