We sat down and talked for a little bit and went over our past medical history, then we went back for a sonogram- she was really curious to see if I have a bicornuate uterus, or a septum...this debate has been going on between all the Dr's we have seen for years now lol! So we go in and she starts the sono, they have the 3D capability, and she is able to see without hesitation, a very distinct, not so small septum!! Here are a few pictures of it- it is the large black mass making my uterus look like a heart.
She also saw some cysts, one is about 4X the size of my ovary!! She explained everything in detail with us and she set up a game plan for us!!
Looks like surgery is the best option for me in all of this, so I will go in August 2nd for a hysteroscopy (to surgically remove the septum) as well as a laparoscopy (to take care of the cysts and look at the outside of my uterus and tubes to make sure everything else looks good).
After I am all healed, and she gives us the green light (and we are ready) we will start a round of IVF, she discussed this with us, and believes that IVF will be our best option given our past with IUI's. We are geared up and ready to head down our new path!!!
Right now, we are packing up and heading to the beach in Florida for a week!!! Looking forward to spending time with my husbands family that lives up in Virginia, we are spending the week in Panama City Beach Florida!!! We do not get to see them all that often, so spending a week at the beach with them will be a great get-a-way!!! We will be missing some of his aunts and uncles :-( but we will make the best of our trip! :-)
Until next time! God bless!
Randi!
