The last day we were in Hawaii, I got an email that there was a job opening at an oral surgeons office super close to our house! So the day after we landed, I got my butt up there and handed in my résumé! Within a few days I had a call for an interview, then a working interview...and I GOT THE JOB!!! I was super excited!!! I have been there for 3 months now! Things are going well, and I'm getting the much needed experience I need!
I was given the methotrexate injections the day we left for Hawaii, the morning we landed (that was at 6am!) we drove directly to the Dr's office for a blood draw...then home to crash! Lol they called with my counts, they had dropped a little, but not where they were supposed to be at this point. To make a long story short, after countless blood draws, tears, confusion and much frustration, my counts as of the end of May are below 2! Talk about a beating!!!
During this whole thing, I felt forgotten about by Dr Kaufmann and his staff, he is a wonderful Dr, but I think we had reached the end of the line with him. We decided to start looming for a new RE, we had a few suggested to us, then one day this one Dr's office was brought up by several different people, so we decided to go with Dr. Doody's office!
We originally had our consult appointment with Dr D, but due to my work schedule changing we had to reschedule- in doing that we changed Dr's within his office, we decided to see Dr Nackley. I LOVED Dr Elkins at Dr K's office, so I am sure we will love Dr N as well. We will be seeing her for our consult on July 1st!
I still feel VERY strongly about not doing another round of IUI, I can not go thru another ectopic pregnancy! After speaking with my OBGYN, he thinks that they are actually happening in my ovaries, and thinks there is a pretty good chance that I am not ovulating every month, even when I'm given the injection that is supposed to make me ovulate! So unless they can tell me 100% that I have ovulated, IUI is out!
We also looked more into adoption, to keep our options open. Good grief that I mighty expensive!!! Lol $35,000-$40,000!!! Pricing was pretty much the same at both places we talked to, one had a one year wait, the other 5+ years!! So right now, we are going to see what this new Dr says before making our decisions.
So right now, we are enjoying life, I'm able to get back into my working out (already down 29 pounds!!) and looking forward to our meeting with the new Dr, and our upcoming vacation to Panama City Beach Florida in 3 weeks!!! Super excited about this one!! Lol I will update soon with the news and "plan" from the new Dr!!!
God bless,
Randi
